Originally from Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, Mike (or Michael to his parents when he's in trouble) joined BFBS Radio in 2003. He was inspired to chase a career in radio after seeing a presenter reading star signs from Teletext at Radio Calderdale, the hospital radio station in Halifax. Well, who wouldn't be?
He went to the University of Sunderland - didn't really do very much to be honest, but did make sure he was in the union bar in the evening. He worked on Utopia FM there, despite them not having Teletext.
He went on to work for some commercial stations, cleaning toilets, shining shoes and generally bumbling about aimlessly until he blagged a job with BFBS Radio. So far, the highlights of his show are the bits where he actually stops talking about the daytime TV he's been watching that morning and plays some music.
Check him out every weekday from 4pm UK time and contact the show: Email mike@bfbs.com Text the studio: 07740 377 377 starting your text with UK and then a space, or give him a call for a chat: 01494 848 001 He gets lonely! OTHER STUFF ON THE SHOW...
Every day we play Just The Job and have someone on who works for the British Forces. They give us a quiz question about your job and if you get it right, we'll stick you in the draw to win lots of free stuff. If you're in the Forces, just email mike@bfbs.com with a question and we'll give you a Just The Job nobbly pen and a trolley remover (it's not as painful as it sounds). LISTENER PICS
So whenever you send in pics to us - no matter how random, we might just put them on the webpage here. Big up to the main man, Tony the Norwegian Trucker (TNT)! for sending in these pics. Tony's been spending time on a ship recently with some guys and girls from the forces, on their way to Lillehammer in Norway for a big old skiing exercise. One of Tony's mates is a DJ on the ship and stuck up a few messages on the big screen! Cheers for getting in touch dude ;)

Here's the possy!
