The Legends Series is back, this time raising money for Help For Heroes.
Five 'Legends' football matches have been played so far, featuring international household names such as Gascoigne, Mattheus, Baresi, Schillaci, Signori, Freund, Illgner, Waddle, Barnes, Ferdinand, Le Saux, Sharpe, Le Tissier and Merson alongside English World Champions from other sports such as Ben Cohen, Steve Thompson ... and Frank Bruno!
The next Legends event, the 'Heroes Cup 2009', sees England take on the Rest of the World to raise money for Help For Heroes. The game is at 7.45pm tonight, Thursday 12th November at the Madejski Stadium in Reading and it's live on BFBS Radio and TV (BFBS 2 for overseas viewers; UK viewers can see the game on ITV2).
Footballing greats such as Paul Gascoigne, Mark Wright, Chris Woods, Rob Lee, Steve Hodge and Dave Beasant have already confirmed they'll play for England, alongside celebrities and sportsmen Alec Stewart, Kyran Bracken, Simon Webbe, Angus Deayton and Paddy McGuinness. The Rest of the World team will include the likes of Steffan Freund, Lothar Matthaus, Gianfranco Zola, David Ginola, Patrik Andersson, Scotland rugby star Kenny Logan, All Black captain Justin Marshall and athlete Iwan Thomas.
