Donations cover a broad spectrum and requests are received from around the world. We have provided funds for projects as diverse as a climbing wall for Log Base Shaibah in Iraq, satellite television receivers on RN and RFA ships, mountain bikes for Bosnia, audio-visual equipment for HMS Liverpool, the mobile cinema and a refurbishment of the Bulldog Bar in Sarajevo in response to just a small sample of the range of applications received.

The Trustees react to requests for funds as quickly as possible. Bids can be made by individual units or by a higher formation on behalf of units, with funds often being despatched within just ten days of receipt of a bid. Service personnel are constantly reminded of the SSVC Welfare Fund via BFBS Radio and Television.

The Welfare Fund is another link in the vital SSVC chain, the sole aim of which is to provide support and welfare for our Armed Forces wherever they are and whatever they are doing around the world.
